Most of my writing has been about guitars or the music business. I also have an interest in open-wheel racing and of course, writing.
My Business: Self Employed
Business Description: I am semi-retired from work as a Library Technician. I presently make and install signs for a small shop in my town as a freelance contractor. I am also asked to contribute to various projects other writer friends are working on.
Degrees: I have one year at Volunteer Community College in Galatin, Tennessee studying communications, journalism.
My Expertise: Guitars have been the bread and butter of my writing income but I have also travelled extensively and written about those adventures. Open-wheel (Formula 1 and Indy Car) racing is a passion and I am fairly well read on these subjects as well as BMW automobiles. I am a volunteer at the Riverside International Automotive Museum and have worked closely with sources at Los Angeles' Petersen Automotive Museum. I have taken thousands of pictures of all my interests and had many published in various magazines and newspapers.
Experience: I have written over a dozen cover stories for Vintage Guitar magazine as well as several features. Guitar Player and Billboard magazines have published my work as well. While living in Tennessee and Indiana I contributed several articles of local and international interest to newspapers. I also wrote a book called, "How I Survived the National Music Scene" and have contributed to books on Duane Allman, Buck Owens, Chet Atkins, DeAngelico guitars as well as other books on guitar. less
