Expertise

Health

Since my senior year of college in 2010, I have written numerous articles and features on health and fitness. I have contributed to Livestrong.com, Suite101.com and COED Magazine on health and fitness and was the first student to write about health and fitness for my college's newspaper, The Independent Florida Alligator, the country's largest student-run college newspaper (circulation: 35,000, readership: 52,000). I have trained and lifted weights with several strength and conditioning experts ranging from Chandler Marchman of Elite Strength & Conditioning, Matt and Sioux-z Gary of Supreme Sports Performance and Training, and I currently train in power lifting using lifting principles from Mark Rippetoe and Jim Wendler.

Health-Care

Ever since I became financially independent, I learned of the true suckiness that is America's health care system, or lack thereof. After a long bout with a sinus infection and beginning stages of pneumonia, a whopping $500 clinic and prescription drug bill slammed my already meager financial status as an underemployed intern in the nation's capital. Ever since, I've learned everything I can about how other countries finance and deliver health care to their people and what America can learn to control costs and provide better coverage to more than 46 million people without insurance.
