  1. Obesity is increasing in numbers; especially here in the U.S.and the high numbers are alarming! Obesity is not just a threat to our lives but a threat to our way of living. Being overweight causes various problems in the body and also in the mind; however, there are home remedies that can help a person to lose weight. Those who are obese have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or more and a weight that is at least 20 percent more than the normal body weight.

    What about Home Remedies?

Many have tried apple cider vinegar when looking for help with obesity. Some have found it to be effective in getting the weight off and also with aches and pains that come with arthritis and joints. Some also use Ginger in their cooking. It helps to burn off fats and keep cholesterol under control. In addition, green tea or ginger tea works well for some in burning off excessive fat. Another home remedy that some have found helpful is by drinking a mixture of warm water with a half tablespoon of honey and a half tablespoon of fresh basil–mixed together and then combined with the warm water. Still another home remedy is by sprinkling black pepper into vegetable soup or vegetables. This increases the flavor of the food and also is effective in controlling obesity or in burning fat. In addition, another kind of home remedy that lessens obesity is to get support from a coach who can give you guidance and counsel on what to eat, how much to eat, the kinds of exercises that will help burn off fat and be a motivating factor toward losing weight and keeping it off.

    What Causes Obesity?

There are several important factors that cause obesity such as: genetics, environment, illness, physical inactivity, wrong choices of food, and not enough encouragement in living a healthier life. In addition, if a person doesn’t receive encouragement or motivation when it comes to overeating, this can often bring on depression and anxiety and these two emotions can worsen obesity. Also, sitting in front of a TV for too long, worsens obesity and that is why it is so important to get up, exercise, move around and burn off some calories. It may be hard at first, but the more you exercise, the better you will feel and the more calories you will burn off.

To conclude, home remedies can help lessen the effects of obesity; however, the three most effective components of losing weight and getting rid of obesity is to eat less, exercise more and find something or someone who can help motivate toward losing weight. Obesity can be eliminated; it just takes time, effort and the desire to feel better.
