  1. If you love Walt Disney World and you love to eat, you’ll be excited to hear about the latest Disney dining promotion. Most nights from August 15 through October 2, 2010, Magic Your Way packages will include the Disney Dining Plan or Quick Service Dining Plan for FREE!

    Promotion Details

In order to receive a free dining plan, guests must book a regularly priced Magic Your Way package, consisting of a five-night stay at a Disney resort and six-day park tickets. Packages booked at any of Disney’s four Value Resorts–Pop Century, All-Star Movies, All-Star Music or All-Star Sports–will include a free Quick Service Dining Plan. Packages booked at select Moderate, Deluxe or Deluxe Villa Resorts will include a free Disney Dining Plan.

    The Difference Between Dining Plans

Disney’s Quick Service Dining Plan includes two quick or counter-service meals and two snacks per person per night of stay, plus one refillable resort mug per person. Disney estimates that the Quick Service Dining Plan would save guests up to 20% on dining.

The Disney Dining Plan includes one table-service meal, one counter-service meal, and one snack per person per night of stay. Disney estimates that the Disney Dining Plan would save guests up to 30% on meal costs.

Disney’s Deluxe Dining Plan includes three table-service or counter-service meals and two snacks per person per night of stay, plus one refillable resort mug per person.

Each meal is actually considered one "credit," so with a dining plan you are basically given an allotment of credits that can be used at any point between the time you check and midnight of the day you check out. Therefore, it is not necessary to use one credit per day, and credits can be combined for use at signature restaurants or dinner shows, which require two credits per person. The dining credits can be used at more than 100 restaurants throughout the Walt Disney World resort, including resort hotels, theme parks and Downtown Disney.

The snack credits can be used on a variety of items including popcorn, ice cream, fresh fruit, soda, water, and even the popular Dole Whip available in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom. The resort mugs are good for "free" refills from the beverage dispensers in the resort food court and usually include coffee, fountain soda, iced tea and hot chocolate.

    Upgrades and Add Ons

If purchasing a Value Package with a free Quick Service Dining Plan, you can upgrade to the Disney Dining Plan for an additional $10 per adult per night, and $2 per child (over age 3) per night. The Deluxe Dining Plan can be added for an additional $40 per adult per night, and $11 per child per night. If purchasing a Moderate or Deluxe package that includes the free Disney Dining Plan, you can upgrade to the Deluxe Dining Plan for $30 per adult per night and $9 per child per night.

Disney also offers a wine package that can be added on to the Disney Dining Plan or Deluxe Dining Plan for $39.99 per night. It includes one bottle of wine per night and must be purchased for all nights of your stay, so if you’re planning on staying five nights, you can’t just opt for three wine credits. However, like the dining credits, wine credits can be combined to purchase a "two-credit" bottle at any table service or Signature Restaurant.

Free Dining packages must be booked by August 14 and are available through Authorized Disney Vacation Planners or by contacting Disney directly.
