It’s a perfect and heavenly mixture. On average, 4 chocolate covered strawberries will be around 160 calories, so it’s also the perfect treat that won’t make the guilty part of us feel bad.

All of the ingredients can be bought at you local supermarket. Be sure to check and make sure your getting good strawberries, they are better when the are big, ripe, and in season. There’s nothing worse then coming home to realize you bought moldy or squished ones.

Chocolate covered strawberries are perfect for so many occasions. As a snack after dinner that secretly adds a fruit serving, as a romantic treat for two people, a dessert at a party. The uses are endless, which makes this the perfect treat! Be sure to eat them within 24 hours to maximize the great flavor.

    Thing we will need:

    • 1 dozen ripe Strawberries
    • 1 cup of your favorite chocolate. You can use any kind whether candy bars, truffles, chocolate chips or the chocolate pieces you can buy right in a can. It’s up to you and your taste desires
    • Wax paper
    • Any other decorations you would like, such as white chocolate, sprinkles, or nuts

Step 1: First we will get everything ready to go. Place wax paper on the counter wherever you would like to lay the strawberries out. Wash the strawberries in cool water and dry, either by air or with a clean paper towel, just make sure there is not even one drop of water left on the strawberries.

Step 2: Carefully melt the chocolate, this can be done in a microwave in a microwave safe bowl. It is easier then melting them over a stove or over hot water. Also, be careful not to burn the chocolate by stirring it repeatedly until it’s melted and smooth.

Step 3: Dip the strawberries by the leafy stem in the chocolate to cover them to the desired thickness and amount. Give the strawberries a little shake as you remove them from the chocolate. Carefully lay them on the wax paper in the refrigerator to let the chocolate harden. This should take about 30 minutes.

Step 4: Even though you are pretty much done, you can decorate these however you want, if at all. Some ideas include drizzling a white chocolate over them in a design, covering them in some sprinkles or nuts. The possibilities are endless just use your creativity and taste buds!

Step 5: After 30 mintues enjoy the work and share the smiles!

This is one of my absolute favorite treats, they are perfect for any kind of occasion. Everyone can enjoy these from the youngest to oldest of your family! You just never outgrow these sweet and tangy treats. Enjoy these and all the smiles they will bring to your dining room table or anywhere else you might enjoy them.

Extra Ideas:  You can add different flavoring to get a different taste.  Try adding some coffee to the chocolate.  You could aslo try some mint, brandy, or adding some cream to give it a richer, smoother taste.  Experiment and see where your taste buds take you!
