Barbecue ribs are one of the most popular foods in the summer, and just about everyone loves them. Whether you prefer beef or pork ribs, you are sure to please nearly everyone at any family gathering or special event when you serve barbecue ribs. There are hundreds of different spices and sauces that you can use, and many ways to cook barbecue ribs.

One of the easiest ways to cook barbecue ribs is to bake them in the oven. This is perfect for anyone who doesn’t have the time to stand over a grill. People who have young children and would have to grill alone may not want to because of the dangers of trying to watch a young child while trying to grill at the same time. Still others live in apartments or housing communities that will not allow them to have grills. Baking barbecue ribs in the oven is the perfect solution to having a grill.

To bake your barbecue ribs in the oven, first rub the ribs with your chosen spices. Garlic, salt, pepper, your own spice rub, whatever you like. Lay them in a baking dish that is big enough that all of the ribs can lay down. Pour your sauce over the ribs. Cover with foil and bake in a 350º F oven (180º C) for about 3 hours. Check the ribs every 20-30 minutes to make sure they aren’t going dry and add water or more sauce if you need to. You can also use a spoon to spoon the sauce over the ribs to make sure they soak it up. When there is about ten minutes left of cooking time remove the foil and let them finish cooking uncovered; this will help make the sauce really stick to the ribs.

The ribs will be very tender so don’t be surprised if the meat falls off the bone. This is especially true for beef ribs. Serve with potato salad, baked beans, and any other sides you enjoy with ribs for a meal that will please everyone and will save you time and hassle.
