  1. This past weekend kicked off Star Wars Weekends, held annually at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Whether you’re a Star Wars fanatic or just happen to be visiting the Studios during these particular weekends, Stars Wars Weekends put you right in the middle of the intergalactic action.

Upon your arrival at the Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you may be greeted with Star Wars music and entertained by several storm troopers attempting to patrol the roof of the entrance. As you stroll down Mickey Avenue, be on the lookout for kids and adults dressed as their favorite Stars Wars characters, anxiously waiting in line to meet Darth Vader or Mickey.

In addition to meet and greet sessions with their favorite characters, Star Wars fans are treated to celebrity appearances and special parades and shows. Peter Mayhew, who played Chewbacca, has become a fixture at Star Wars Weekends, and is always a crowd pleaser. Kids can learn new lightsaber skills at the Jedi Training Academy, while Star Wars trivia experts can test their knowledge against a protocol droid to win prizes. And of course, no Star Wars weekend would be complete without that classic ride though space, Star Tours. Be sure to pick up a FastPass early in the day, as the wait is sure to be longer than usual during Star Wars Weekends.

Star Wars Weekends will be held every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from May 21 through June 13, 2010.
