I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and worked for years with an adult population which included people with disorders such as schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder, and other diagnoses. I have worked with evaluating different methods of treatment for these individuals.

I have studied many causes of depression and have worked listening to and helping depressed individuals to cope. In addition due to loss I have experienced bouts of depression myself and have learned many ways of coping with such loss. Depression can take many forms. It can be caused by events or it can be caused by chemical imbalances in the brain. Sometimes it is a combination of both.

I have several accounts with Twitter each based on a particular niche. I also have several Facebook fan pages which serve as hubs to promote niche blogs which I have created.

Worked in the adolescent unit part time caring for emotionally handicapped adolescents. A knowledge of behavior modification was an asset in this job. Carried out client programs designed by residential counselors. Duration of this job was only two months due to layoffs. During this time I was offered a full time job as a teacher's aide at the center's main unit. I declined as I planned on moving from Sioux Falls in a couple of months from that date.

Duties included general supervision of children, and planning and helping half-day kindergarten students with crafts and activities. During my time there I set up a positive reinforcement behavior program with the kindergarten students. Evaluation by the daycare director showed my assets to be excellent in the following areas: ease with self and others, compassion and empathetic concern, accepting feedback, flexibility and dependability, remaining calm during emergencies, demonstrating good communication skills, and encouraging autonomy in the children.
