Hello. Dumbo and fancy are actually not even “breeds” of rats. Dumbo refers to the ear type. There are dumbo eared and standard eared. Fancy refers to what a pet store would call rats. But in reality, they are just rats. There are no different breeds of rats, only different fur type, and markings. Even the nakies (hairless rats) are simply just rats.
So, no a dumbo is not known to be friendlier than a standard eared. Every rat has their own personality depending on the environment they are raised in, the amount of proper handling they receive as babies, and pure genetics. I have seen very aggressive dumbo eared rats and I have seen extremely sweet dumbo eared rats, same goes for standard.
