Antibiotics do not fight infections caused by viruses like cold, Antibiotics are needed to fight bacterial infections.

Luckily, there are effective natural options like eating or drinking fruits that include vitamin C like lemons or oranges. Also drinking hot liquids\ juices can help and keep you warm.

Please in case of suffering from a serious viruses or bacterial infections make sure to see the doctor.

Shweta ji, antibiotics do help our body against virus attacks specially during common cold.

Yes you can avoid taking it , but for that you will have to start conditioning your body from the begining of the winters. Normally we start wearing warm clothes during the initial winter days. If during earlier winter days you avoid wearing warm clothes and try to make your body immune to normal cold, you wont fee the need of antibiotics.
