Yes and no.  It largely depends on what the issue is.  For example some of the issues in landlord tenant cases can and should be handled between the tenant and landlord.  Knowing your rights as a tenant are important.  Usually if one the following issues arises, you should contact an attorney.  If your Landlord is evicting you or evicting you without proper court procedures.  If you have been discriminated against (alternately contact HUD). If your Landlord won’t make necessary repairs and or your personal property is damaged due to that failure. If you have been injured on the property due to the landlords negligence.  You may consider getting a free consultation with a lawyer or trying to hire a lawyer as a coach to assist you in your case.
