Do you think eating meat is neccesary for people?

We are not living in caves, so we are smart enough to be tolerant to animals, I suppose.

Meat contains lots of protein, which is what our body needs. However, if you can find foods other than meat that has lots of proteins, I don’t think it is necessary for you to eat meat. I have a cousin who has been a vegetarian for years and she is very healthy. She eat other types of foods in place of meat.

I don’t think it’s necessary for people to eat meat. As long as viable protein, healthy fats and vitamin sources can be found to supplement (which there are) then we don’t need to, We choose to because in truth it’s become easier and less expensive.

No, it really isn’t necessary because the point is to get the nutrients often found in meat, namely, muscle and tissue-building protein, basic fats and iron, among other things (if we are talking red meat in particular).

If you can get those same sources of nutrients from something other than meat, you are good to go. Plus, think about people who are allergic,  have digestive disturbances, or are simply grossed out by it. Think about some of the people in India who are borne into a vegetarian diet for cultural and religious purposes. Then, think about people who cannot afford it, or think about places where food is scarce. Anything will do the trick for these groups of people so long as they have the nutrients that they need.

I, for once, am slowly transitioning to non-meat. I have been ill recently and can only eat lean, soft foods. Plus, the bedside guardian that has been there for me 100% of the time is my cat, Oscar. This animal was able to sense my feelings, and he has been my primary source of comfort. I cannot think of someone saying one day “Ok, y’all are on the clear to eat cats!” I don’t know, it is a personal call, I guess.
