How much trash is cleaned up after the Rose Parade?

50 tons of trash was cleaned up after the Rose Parade.  Besides the trasn at least 5 tons of cardboard and 3500 beverage containers were recycled.  (3500 beverage containers seems light I guess all those people who want the recycling fees take care of most of that)

The cleanup starts immediately after the parade where they clear the streets of safety hazards (fire pits created by campers and discarded furniture, etc.).  Then they actually scrub the streets on 10PM after the parade along the 5.5 mile parade route.

Interestingly, according to Pasadena Department of Public Works another 50 tons of trash was cleaned up from the Rose Bowl Game itself in 2012 along with 30 tons of cardboard and 100,000 beverage containers.

Full cleanup from these events takes about 2 weeks.
