What is Long term disability?

If you are in the US and you have your LTD thru work at a private company, then that falls under the jurisdiction of ERISA, a federal law. If you worked for a public employer, it probably is not under ERISA, which would be better. It may be that you do not have an opportunity to re-apply for disability and must sue, in which case, you would have to get a lawyer, but she knows some good ones. LTD has all kinds of ways to weasel out of paying, and you have to read your contract carefully, but even so, there are many weasel words and court decisions that you won’t know about. So you need help.

It is when your are injured for life and you can’t do certain things without assiatnce. For example someone in the military may be hurt and they might lose nerves in their legs and can not walk. They would possible be someone who has a long-term disability.

They might need assiatnce such as wheelchairs, so they need ramps to get into certain places like work for example.

Hope this helped!

Are you asking as like a personal claim or one where you where hurt at work, in which case you would have to respond to LABOR AND INDUSTRIES (LNI) for short. Sometimes you can find lawyers that will help you through this difficult and confusing time, online by doing a simple google search. They require no up front costs UNLESS you win your case! They do the same for regular disability cases as well..hope this Helps.
