What is the secret to reading a very thick book?

The prospect of getting through a thick book can sometimes be daunting. Don’t think about how long it is and concentrate on a chapter at a time. If the chapters are very long break these into smaller, more manageable sections.

It may take a little longer to finish the book but not reading too much at a time can help you tackle it and, hopefully, enjoy it more.

One page at a time. Just read a chapter a day.

The secret is to get through the first two chapters it will give you a general idea about the book.It will help you to decide whether reading the book is worth you time or not.If you are not hooked after the the first few chapters then its better to abandon the book..

It depends. If the book is something you decided you might enjoy reading then there is no real secret. However, I find that opening to somewhere in the middle section and glancing down a page for something to catch my attention will usually lead me to want to start from the very beginning in order to understand.

If it is something that is required for some sort of project, the same thing might help but I would consider looking up quotes from the book and see how interesting those sound. It might just spice up your interest.
