Whats the best substitute for lard in cooking
If you’re baking the best substitute would be Olive Oil ! If you’re trying to fry chicken or a steak or whatsoever my best solution would be to flash fry it & finishing it off in the oven. By finishing it off on a cooking rack your dish would provide at most a healthier meal at best. If you’re sautéing vegetables a tablespoon of your favorite Vegetable Oil would go a long way alone with a teaspoon of butter substitute.
Ps. When preparing veggies try adding Accent as a flavor booster.
Coconut oil is the healthiest alternative. It’s more expensive than lard, but the health benefits are well worth it. You can use it to fry, saute’, bake, broil, grill or anything. It can withstand high temperatures without burning. Plus there’s no coconut flavor or aftertaste when you cook with coconut oil. I love it.
chik-fil-a is a fast food restaurant and the only only fast food place I know of here in texas that uses peanut oil. It is supposed to be some what healthier than the regular oils used by other fast food restaurants like McDonalds, Whataburger, Burger King etc. You can find it at most grocery stores. There is also the famous Crisco, or some people have been known to save left over bacon grease in a container after each bacon cook.
