In a country wide scale, women were allowed to vote in New Zealand in 1893. The USA followed by passing the 19th Amendment in 1920.

The first women to obtain the right to vote in general were in the territory of Wyoming. Wyoming signed the right of women to vote into law in 1869, and women voted for the first time in September of 1870.
