Why did the Mexican Americans, Dust Bowl migrants, and Filipinos fiercely compete for jobs?

It was because of the increased unemployment rate that was caused by the great depression. The economy was extremely down and the Mexican Americans, Dust Bowl migrants and Filipinos were willing to do any job, just to be able to survive.

To be honest, I don’t even know why they fought so hard for jobs. It seems that today there are a huge number of places where you could go to work. At least I managed to find jooble, where there are a huge number of vacancies. Based on this site, I also started to wonder about this question.

There is probably always competition when looking for a job. I often find that the employer prefers someone else instead of me for the position that I’d like to get. I don’t know what to do anymore.
