Why does China have so many ghost towns?
China has so many ghostowns because the government builds a lot of infrastructure that does not have much of a purpose. So many people are entering the workforce in China each month because of the country’s large population. To make sure those people have jobs, they are put to work building roads, bridges, schools, and other items. When that sort of work runs out, the government has people building towns complete with malls and large appartments. However, many of these towns are never occupied because there are no other jobs to draw them there. Hence, the towns never fill and they become ghosttowns.
