A friend of mine said that she got most of her lactation specific education through online study modules and by attending local workshops. May I do the same?
Even though it is possible to qualify for the exam by this approach, it is not recommended. It is difficult to obtain a well-rounded, comprehensive education in lactation by completing many single topic workshops or study modules. When choosing your education, you should look for courses/programs that offer broad instruction in the disciplines and chronological periods listed on the IBLCE Exam Blueprint. As well as the traditional in-class presentations, there are comprehensive online courses in human lactation.
