A mechanic told me 2004 Chevy truck engines had problems. Do 2005 Chevy trucks have the same engines?
I am a chevy dealership technician and I have yet to find any major issues with the gen III engines. In my opinion they are the best around. The only recurring issue is lower intake gaskets leak vacuum, which has since been corrected with a diff design gasket. Yes 2004 and ’05 models are the same engines with light diff. Do not let his comments scare you away from buying a chevy truck.
