Actors and Actresses: Who are some of the greatest male film actors of all time and why?
My choices (only five) would be: • Peter O’Toole – Simply one of the finest actors in the history of film. From Lawrence of Arabia, to Creator and even to the execrable Supergirl, when you see Peter O’Toole on screen, you believe that he is that character. • Ossie Davis – Overlooked during his life, but one the finest American actors ever. Never became the star that he should have been, but always stole the show when he was on-screen. • Denholm Elliott – If he was in the film, there was usually little reason to watch the other performers. He was just that good. Many actors didn’t want to work with him for just that reason. • Edward G. Robinson – Largely forgotten by today’s audiences, this man was an exceptional talent who, because of his looks and his short stature unfortunately became a character actor when he should have been a star. From Little Caesar to The Ten Commandments to Soylent Green (his final film) when he was on screen he was mesmerizing. • Paul Newman – He made it look
