Akai EWI4000s Patchman MusicMy EWI4000s is playing out of tune on all patches. Why?
There can be several reasons for this: • The global fine tuning parameter (parameter “tu”) may not be set to “40” (A=440). • Make sure the TRANS LED is not lit. If it is lit, then you are transposing the horn out of the key of C (concert pitch). • You may unknowingly be touching one of the bend sensors with your right hand thumb. • You may need to calibrate the EWI’s bend sensors so the pitch is centered. This is very easy to do. Enter AD mode on the EWI4000s by holding the SETUP button and use the side keys to scroll through the parameters until “AD” shows in the display. Release the SETUP button and the LED below the SETUP botton should now be lit. The horn is now in “adjustment” mode where you check the bend calibration. When holding the horn in this mode without touching any of the sensors or blowing, you should see NO LED segments lit in the upper display when the horn is properly calibrated. If you see LED segments that are lit, then you need to calibrate. Remove the black cover
