Am i a candidate for inpatient treatment for bulimia?

YES definitely. Your physical and mental health are deteoriating rapidly. Vomiting blood, excessive purging, and tearing vital organs are all indicators that you need to be put in an intensive treatment program. You also have said that you’re unable to stop on your own, so hospitalization is the only way that you will have the opportunity to break the cycle. After you complete inpatient, I would suggest looking into a residential facility. They teach you how to eat meals “normally” and work on therapy and treating the root causes of your ED. I was inpatient and it was a decision I’m glad I made. You can definitely recover from this! Please take care.

You’re right, there are plenty of other people who need it more than you do. There’s always someone more unfortunate than oneself… but those individuals will get help regardless of whether or not we do. I do understand your preoccupation with not believing you’re thin enough to need inpatient–it’s the way that I felt before I entered treatment. Fortunately, centers don’t have a “You must be this weight to enter” sign anywhere, as those with bulimia rarely get down to a dangerously low weight without either getting treatment and recovering or, unfortunately, dying from their disorder. You’re more than eligible. The less you stop thinking of the “but’s”, the faster you can start on the road to recovery with a clear mind.
