Am I the only one not impressed by Jeanette Walls, author of The Glass Castle?

I believe that the book showed that you can have a completely dysfunctional childhood and still grow up to be successful, without playing the victim game that so many play when their childhoods are difficult. In that way, her book, while maybe the writing is not wonderful, still has a much needed lesson….not only about not being a victim, but about unconditional love for the people who hurt you the most. She also wrote it from the position of herself as a child, and that might explain some of the “and this happened or that happened” passages.
