Amenorrhea, Anovulation: Do I still need to be on birth control?

I’m 18 years old. Have amenorrhea and confirmed anovulation (thanks to progesterone withdrawal test). I became sexually active two months ago, but was put on the pill when I was 14 by a gynecologist because of drastic menstrual irregularity. This pill (Yasmine 2 made my period EXTREMELY heavy – I’d have to stay home from school for two days because of it. My grandmother told me to stop using it after a while because it wasn’t getting any better. After stopping, I didn’t have my period for six months, then it started again but like before I began Yasmine 28 (lasted two weeks, stop for two weeks, then start again). My new gynecologist prescribed me to Alesse 28, which worked much better. My period was normal, and everything was fine, until December 2006. I developed erythema nodosum on both of my legs (one after the other, not both at the same time) and around March 2007, started having trouble doing any sort of physical exercise – meaning I was well on my way to a blood clot or worse.
