An enemy planted an Ion Cannon Beacon / Nuclear Strike Beacon inside the tunnel on C&C_Field and it hurt my refinery! What gives?
Planting a beacon inside the tunnel behind either the GDI or Nod Refinery on C&C_Field is known as planting a “tunnel beacon” and is sometimes frowned upon as unsporting. The nuclear strike or Ion cannon will damage the refinery despite being targeted “inside” the mountain. Some servers consider this against the rules and will kick or ban players for doing it, but others consider it an acceptable way to break the “deadlock” that can frequently occur in Renegade games. If you spot a tunnel beacon, you should announce it. There is no significant risk to the refinery unless several beacons are planted at once. Additionally, beacons must be planted in a fairly specific part of the tunnel to actually damage the Refinery; many “tunnel beacons” miss and do no damage whatsoever.
