Are a vast majority of African Americans closed minded?

It seems that since you're referring to African AMERICANS to which racism is much more on the high there, they're looking after they're own and therefore only care for there own if what you say is true. It's not surprising. I don't believe it's closed minded, they probably are aware that there are plenty of white people that have had great success in sport, films etc. but they probably have the mindset similar to that of "as usual" so don't feel the need to make a big hoo-ha about it cos it's not out of the norm. When they know of an African American who has also had such success, THEN they make a big deal out of it because they're one of their own and this in America IS a big deal.  more

WITHOUT ANY DOUBT. They always have been focused primarily on the achievements and advancements ONLY related to or by African - American people. PROOF of this exists in the FACT that there was a RECORD amount of American Americans registering to VOTE because there was an African American on the ballot. Any mature NON racist American American will admit this. AND, they will even admit how HYPOCRITICAL that way of thinking is too. And do not forget the NAACP, Jessie Jackson or Al Sharpton - they are NOT about "equality" - - they are about SPECIAL rights.  more

See we are different. No one likes to admit this,we like to say "we are all the same" etc. To a certain degree we are the same; but culturally we are different, we do support our own, all races do that to a certain degree. Comedy is a prime example of our cultural differences.I am hispanic and I am quite sure I am more familiar with hispanic artists and other accomplished latinos then most white or black people. Doesn't mean I'm close minded just means I am aware of my people. The percentage of whites in America is far higher then Blacks and Latinos so there is more news about there accomplishments. Also TV still portrays us as criminals, lazy, baby makers, uneducated etc. So I think we make sure to know more about our own accomplishments to counterbalance what the media portrays.  more

not me I am black but my friends call me white I am the most open minded person you will ever meet! I have to be honest blacks are not that great at having to be in situations with different races but I love all races so yeah blacks have a problem with that!  more
