Are all places along the equator warm why?
The equator is the only place where the sun’s rays falls directly perpendicular to the surface throughout the year. This means that it is the region that gets the highest amount of solar energy per year. The reason that the heat is maintained is due to oceanic and atmospheric circulation currents. One of the factors that could cause cooler temperatures, even at the equator, is altitude. For example, the temperature in mountain ranges in Ecuador (right on the equator) are still quite low, and snow can occur.
