Are All Single Moms Eligible For a Federal Pell Grant?
The Federal Pell Grant is an award which doesn’t have to be paid back, unlike a loan. There is some confusion surrounding eligibility for this grant and this article aims to address that confusion in relation to single moms. The Pell Grant is an award which is based primarily upon financial need and interestingly, previously attained grades are not part of the criteria for eligibility. The Pell Grant is one of a limited source of “free” money that they US government awards and they are given to students who can demonstrate financial hardship.
