Are angelfish compatible with african cichlid?

0

One of the main rules when keeping Cichlids is to NOT mix American (Angels) with African Cichlids. There are water parameter and temperament clashes to deal with. That said there are exceptions, such as African Cichlids NOT from the Rift Lakes such as Kribensis which like water chemistry similar to their South American counterparts, however there can still be temperament issues, especially if the Cichlids decide to spawn! If by African Cichlids you’re referring the well known Rift Lake – Lake Malawi Mbuna Cichlids, the answer is definitely no. Mbunas are often quite aggressive monsters and require exceptionally alkaline water, quite the opposite of Amazonian fish like Angelfish. In general, the answer is no.
