Yes. The following are exempt: • The driver of a taxicab, bus or public vehicle, while transporting a passenger for hire. • The driver of a motor vehicle that is registered in another jurisdiction and is in Ontario for 30 days or less is exempt from using booster seats until May 31, 2014. • The driver of an ambulance as defined in section 61 of the Act. • Drivers of vehicles equipped with lap belts only are exempt from using booster seats. • Drivers of public vehicles with a seating capacity of 10 or more persons that are operated by or under contract with a school board or other authority in charge of a school for the transportation of children are also exempt.
