Are Apollo mountain bikes any good?

0

Apollo makes low end to bottom end bikes from what I can see on their web site.Anything with Shimano Tourney is going to be junk. It’s not going to hold up with any serious riding. This is the same quality of bikes you’ll find at Walmart.Or I should say lack of quality.Ok if you just want to ride around the block or to the corner store for ice cream. But if you want to ride it as a mountain bike is supposed to be ridden, it will fall apart.

Personally I would not touch Apollo, they’re bottom price and bottom quality. They will get you round the streets but are heavy and just not strong enough to cope with significant off-road riding. If you’re not going off-road, then don’t get an MTB! I suggest you find a mate who knows what to look for and look for a decent second-hand bike, there’s not a lot of decent new MTB out there for £300. Try your local paper for classifieds or Gumtree. If you’re set on a new one, try your local shop, or Tredz or Wiggle at the links below. Don’t be tempted by a dirt cheap full-suspension bike. They’re cheap for a reason.
