I have a 99 1.8t A4 (basically the same) that I love. It is a great car and the 1.8t is an absolutely awesome engine. $7k sounds about right for that year and 52k miles is like nothing. I have seen a B5 A4 that was regularly tracked, had a big turbo, and had over 250k miles on it and still had the original clutch and ran great. That said, Audis are very expensive to maintain. First off, because of the turbo, you have to use synthetic oil and premium fuel. This means every oil change is going to be $60-$80 and every time you fill up it’ll cost you ~$50 depending on where you live. Next, service is very expensive. While that 52k is very low for that year, it is also very close to needing some serious scheduled maintenance, including a new timing belt. This will set you back well over a grand; trust me, I know. Now if anything breaks on the car, and things will break, you probably won’t be able to get out of the dealership without spending at least $500. Part and labor for Audis are insan
