Are babies on formula milk stupid or slow when they grow up?

Well, breastmilk is proved to be very good for your children but I do not think that formula fed babies are going to be stupid or slow due to the milk that they drink. I think that formula might cause allergies later in life for some formula fed kids. Breastmilk helps to fight off a bunch of illnesses (like the flu) and I believe allergies too.

I have been on both sides of the spectrum. I have five children…three were breastfed. The two that weren’t are just as bright as the others. My son who is six is extrememly bright. He gets straight A’s, and is very advanced in many things. He was formula fed. It all has to do with genetics. Sure, breastfeeding is great and is the ultimate food for a baby. Your body produces the nutrients that YOUR baby needs, so it is specially designed. It is more conveniant too. No bottles to scrub, nothing to mix and warm…very easy. But, as far as it making a child smarter, research says it is possible, but from my experience it’s not true.

I know that research shows that “breast milk is best”, but I was formula fed, and I turned out just fine. I was not sick that much when I was a baby/child, was valedictorian of my high school, have a masters degree and am now a CPA. I am now formula feeding my 7 month old son and he seems very aware and bright. He has not been sick at all (knock on wood). He is a very active intelligent little man; I don’t really think that theory holds true. I am all for breastfeeding if that is what you want to do, but if not, then don’t. I think either way, breast or formula, you should do what is best for your situation.

I don’t think that being formula or breastfeed have anything to do with it.My daughter who is only 12 months old was formula feed and she already has 11 teeth(3 of which are her 1 year molars) says about 15 words, started walking at 9 months, knows where her nose is,knows what her shoes, and pants are and is doing other stuff that most kids her age are not doing yet. And to call any baby stupid or slow even as adults I find a bit offensive.Unless maybe you are.
