Are baby slings safe?
Baby slings are completely safe to use and babywearing is good for babies and for their parents! The golden rules for safety, especially when carrying a newborn in a sling are: • Your baby’s should be close enough to your face that you can lean down and kiss them • Your baby should never have his chin resting on its chest • Your baby’s head should be higher than the rest of its body • Your baby’s knees should be higher than its bottom if using a cradle hold • Your baby’s face shouldn’t be covered by fabric • Your baby’s head should be supported until they have good head control For more information on using slings safely please see this great article on the website of Babywearing International.
