Are bullet proof/stab proof vests legal in Australia?

Of course, its legal for all military and Police enforcement agencies, The Australian Army have developed their own TBAS military body armour system which is currently in use in Operation slipper in Afghanistan. Currently the MRTF3 are all equiped with the TBAS body armour system. For civilians no I don’t think that this is considered as lawfully acquired if civilians are equiped with such a body armour protection system then they are guilty of being of possession of an illegal contraband. Mind you semi-automatic and automatic weapons are illegal in Australia but who prevents the criminal elements from gaining possession of illegal weapons in Australia anyway. If you want something that badly and are able to afford it there are many ways to skin a cat as they say.
