Are carnival cruises as bad as people say they are?
It depends what you’re wanting from a cruise. If you want more of a fun cruiseship with gambling, drinking, less formal dining, go with carnival. If, on the other hand, you prefer the ‘traditional’ cruise where you get fairly dressed up for dinner, etc., I’d go with royal carribean. I’ve personally only been on a carnival cruise with my family when I was a teenager…..my parents chose that one because it was cheaper, as you’ve apparently already noticed =). It wasn’t a bad experience, but my parents, who have been on the princess and royal carribean lines much preferred the more upscale ones to carnival. I can’t really compare, as I’ve never been on royal carribean, but I enjoyed my time on carnival….there wasn’t a lot to do in terms of on-board entertainment because I wasn’t of legal age to drink, gamble, see a lot of the shows, etc.
