Are Corelle Dishes Really Unbreakable?

0

Earlier this year, I was searching for a new set of dinnerware. I had always heard wonderful things about Corelle and loved the fact that they were supposedly unbreakable. This led me to buy a 17 piece set of Corelle Winter Frost White Dinnerware. When I got the package in the mail, I was kind of disappointed with the appearance of the dinnerware. It was very thin and looked really cheap. It also looked like it would shatter easily. I decided while washing the pieces, I would see how shatter proof they really were. I banged two pieces together and surprisingly enough, neither piece broke. But, time would tell that the other claims made by the Corelle Company were not true. Corelle is supposed to be shatter, chip, and scratch resistant. Unfortunately, the pieces do scratch and they do chip. This set would be fine for everyday dinnerware, but I can’t see myself using these when I had dinner guests.
