This could be a good way of spreading the cost of a new laptop if you are on a budget, but make sure the specifications of both the laptop and the mobile broadband service meet your needs. When we looked at a range of ‘free’ laptop mobile broadband deals in early 2010, we found that, in many cases, if you added up the extra subscription charges you pay for a ‘free’ laptop deal compared with an equivalent mobile broadband deal without the laptop, you’d have more than enough money to buy the same spec laptop outright.
