A. Plans for the conduct of maintenance of structures, systems, and components, important to safety or waste isolation, of the repository operations area are required by 10 CFR 63.21. Section 2.1.1.7 of the Yucca Mountain Review Plan identifies the requirements for DOE’s maintenance plans for subsurface structures, systems, components, equipment and safety controls important to safety. Plans for the conduct of normal operations, including maintenance, surveillance, and periodic testing, are described in Section 2.5.6 of the Plan. Documents related to these topics should be included in the LSN.
