Derek, Totally depends. Some of the models, such as the sportclassic when they first came out were monoposto (means single seater). Later years of the bike were changed with a monoposto cowl that could be removed to allow a passenger. Some of the superbikes had small teeny tiny passenger seats with passenger pegs while others did not. The Ducati 1098 is not. The Ducati 848 is. The Ducati SuperSport has a touring seat and is actually very comfortable for passengers. Long story short though, the way they are designed is great if you're taking someone on a date, or a quick scoot downtown. But the superbikes and high performance version Ducati bikes are very uncomfortable for passengers longterm on rides. There are Ducati motorcycles MADE for touring though, known as the "ST" series. There is the ST3 and ST4 series ducati bikes.
