Yes and no. Different types of addicts share many things in common. However there are differences. People with food addiction have to eat. So it is like someone trying to quit coke but have to snort just a small amount 3 x a day. Plus most addicts can avoid being around what they are addicted to. Again if you are a coke addict it is theoretically easier to stay away from coke then food. On the other hand people with food addiction do not usually hit as low a bottom as some addicts. For instance they usually don’t resort to illegal activites in order to buy food. The stigma is also not as severe. Although people understand drug addiction better than food addiction drug addicts face more dicrimination.
