Are employers deeply concerned about employability skills?
In most jobs it is difficult to effectively utilize employees that lack employability skills. Most employers would prefer if job applicants already possess the foundational ‘life’ skills needed as a platform on which additional body of knowledge can be built. In this regard, they would prefer to hire people who are trained and ready to go to work. However, they are ready to provide other specialized, job-specific training necessary to effectively perform functional responsibilities.
