Are extreme makeovers common among patients?

In my own experience they are not common. Rather it is more common to do surgery in stages. In fact few people have multiple procedures. I do, of course, see people for various procedures over the years. Is it obvious when someone has had a facelift? A facelift need only be obvious in the immediate post-op swelling and bruising stage. But once this settles and stitches are removed the face should look younger and fresher, not windswept or tight. I personally would have difficulty picking a facelift a few weeks post-op. Modern Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System (SMAS) techniques and surgery carried out under local anaesthetic contribute to rapid recovery and natural results.
