Are fast-food restaurants beneficial in anyway?

One of the big pros as a parent is that when you are on a long car trip with your kids, you can stop at one of the fast food restaurants that have a play area and let your kids run around, use the restroom, and eat inexpensively. Especially helpful if it is raining! One of the cons is that the food choices are typically unhealthy and the people that work there are only paid minimum wage and don't get health benefits. That is bad for our community because if those workers get sick, they have to go to clinics or worse, they go to the ER and then the tax payers have to cover the expenses.  more
