Are first-year students required to live on-campus?
First-year students are required to live on campus and complete 24 hours of SMU credit in the first two semesters. Students not completing 24 hours may be required to live on-campus a second year. Exceptions to the live-on requirement may be requested for students from Dallas who will be living at home with a parent or guardian in the primary residence of the parent/guardian.
