Are goldendoodles godd dogs?
The dogs themselves aren’t bad dogs, but they’re exclusively bred by backyard breeders and puppymills. I suggest that you get a purebred from a reputable breeder who shows and health tests the parents. Both Golden Retrievers and Poodles are breeds with hunting heritage, and temperament-wise they are very similar. Grooming is a requirement for both, but Poodles have the edge in my mind because they are hypoallergenic. However, Poodles need to visit the groomer about every 6 weeks or so to get their hair clipped. Its fairly easy to do though, so you could save quite a bit of money by buying the equipment and learning to do it yourself. Both breeds need to be brushed out regularly to prevent matting. Most importantly to most people, both breeds are good family dogs and good with children. For what its worth, breeding the two breeds together doesn’t produce a non-shedding, hypoallergenic Golden dog.
