Are Health Carriers and Association Plans required to use the CalPERS Unique Identifier?

Not for PEMHCA members. Health Carriers and Association Plans will continue to use Social Security Numbers (SSNs) as the identifier. For non-PEMHCA, Carriers and Associations may need to capture the CalPERS Unique Identifier when reporting Direct Pay information.
