Are high profile or affluent blacks treated harshly by the criminal justice system?

If you mean in general, no. If you mean have there ever been specific cases, yes. The reason that this issue has become a topic in modern news is because of an isolated incident with Professor Henry Louis Gates, the Harvard University professor who was wrongly arrested in his own home. However, and this is strictly my personal opinion, I would say that on the WHOLE this is not an issue, but if you were to DIG you would find cases where it has. It goes along with the old saying, “If you’re looking for something you’re going to find it.” If the question was are low profile, nonaffluent blacks treated harshly by the criminal justice system then I would answer yes, just as a side thought.
